The Annual Somerville Laundry Lomax Charity Golf Day, held in October, was another great success this year with over 140 golfers swinging in to support Our Kids.
Our Kids is a local charity aimed at improving health services for children in the Northern Rivers area.
Peter Warren, Practice Manager at Somerville Laundry Lomax and local golfer, has been instrumental in organising the Charity Golf Day for over 15 years. The Golf Day is a key event in the Our Kids calendar and raises funds to purchase much-needed equipment for Lismore Base Hospital and surrounding satellite hospitals.
Funds raised this year will go towards the purchase of two resuscitaires which are currently on the Our Kids Wishlist (one each for Lismore Base Hospital and Ballina Hospital). A resuscitaire is an intensive care open crib, providing access for medical teams, and the components required for emergency and resuscitation of newborns and infants.
The Golf Day coincided with National Bandanna Day, CanTeen’s major fundraising and awareness campaign for teenagers with cancer. With bandannas aplenty, golfers and spectators enjoyed a great day out while supporting our children of all ages.
