Brad Heydon

Brad Heydon graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1981, holding degrees in Law and Commerce (Accounting).

Brad has over 40 years of legal experience, advising individuals, families and businesses across New South Wales. He was the Principal of Heydons Lawyers and Attorneys, a role he held for 23 years. He is widely respected for his depth of expertise in commercial and property law.

A trusted adviser to many significant Far North Coast businesses, Brad has worked extensively with family-owned enterprises, assisting with commercial structuring, succession planning, and long-term wealth and asset protection through trusts, companies and related entities. Several of his client relationships have spanned more than 25 years, reflecting a practice built on continuity, trust and practical outcomes.

Brad’s purpose as a lawyer is simple and enduring: to help people navigate the transitional phases of their lives with integrity and ease, while also supporting clients to optimise commercial opportunities and outcomes. This dual focus – people and performance – has defined his legal career for more than four decades.

Brad is also deeply engaged in the business community. He is a former President of the Byron Bay Chamber of Commerce, where he supported local enterprise, advocacy and sustainable economic development in the region.

Outside the law, Brad enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and family, hiking coastlines and mountains, and playing golf – activities that reflect his long-standing connection to the land and community.
