Stephen Tester

Stephen Tester is an accredited family law specialist who has been in legal practice on the North Coast of NSW since 1989. Although Stephen specialises in family law, over three decades of practice he has extensive expertise in other areas of law including wills and estates, contested estates, and criminal matters.

Stephen is an experienced solicitor advocate and has appeared as an advocate in the Federal Circuit Court, the Family Court and the Full Court of the Family Court of Australia as well as in contested cases in the local court and District Court appeals.

After joining Somerville Laundry Lomax in 2017 Stephen has the luxury of being able to focus on his area of specialty and passion, being family law, whilst still taking instructions in wills and estates and contested estates.

Stephen was awarded a Bachelor of Arts (history) and Bachelor of Laws from Macquarie University in 1988. Stephen was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia in 1989. Stephen has been a Law Society accredited specialist in family law since 1994.

When Stephen isn’t at work he enjoys spending time with his 3 children and grandchildren, mountain biking, playing and writing music, surfing, fishing and enjoying life on the wonderful Far North Coast.
