Two locals are embarked on an adventure of a lifetime from London to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on13th July to raise money for the Special Care Nursery.

Katie Parker from Lismore and Mitchell Call, Lennox Head went on a six-week / 16,000 kilometres journey, through eighteen countries all in the name of Charity. The pair took off trying to raise $6,500 for a Phototherapy Blanket that helps look after babies with jaundice in Special Care Nursery.

“It was an amazing adventure that showed us, not only some spectacular scenery, but really opened our eyes to the generosity of people from other cultures” said Katie Parker, Team Leader

The team needed $1500 to reach their target and the Far North Coast Law Society came to the rescue and added the outstanding amount so the phototherapy blanket could be purchased.

“It is great to be involved in such a team effort to benefit children in our local community” said Guy Latham from Somerville Laundry Lomax a representative of the Far North Coast Law Society. The Phototherapy Blanket will help treat babies with jaundice and at the same time let them stay close to their mother.
